Qist · Social justice initiative

Justice carried forward in the Zaynabi tradition.

يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا كُونُوا قَوَّامِينَ بِالْقِسْطِ شُهَدَاءَ لِلَّهِ

“O you who believe, stand firmly for justice, as witnesses for Allah.”

Surah An-Nisa · 4:135

Qist takes its name from al-qist — the Qur'anic word for justice invoked in this verse — and is rooted in the Zaynabi legacy: the moral clarity, steadfast service, and refusal to stay silent that Sayeda Zaynab (sa) carried into the face of tyranny. It exists to turn that legacy into collective action: adopting urgent causes, mobilizing Muslim women around them, and creating real pathways for meaningful contribution. Because justice is not peripheral to Islam — it is a command entrusted to us, and the light Qist seeks to carry into the world.
